The City of Monrovia is looking for an exceptional individual to serve as our next Facilities Maintenance Worker. The selected individual will need to be knowledgeable in all things related to the maintenance and operation of our eleven city facilities. The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude and have the determination to keep all of our facilities in pristine shape. The successful candidate will have outstanding customer service skills with the ability to work effectively with the general public, business owners, community groups, and vendors.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing operational responsibilities including, but not limited to:
Performing general cleaning and maintenance activities;
Performing routine maintenance checks for electrical panels and electrical wiring to identify issues;
Performing basic maintenance to equipment and building systems to ensure facilities remain functional;
Inspecting and troubleshooting equipment and systems;
Installing structures and fixtures and following blueprints and building plans to meet the needs of clients;
Actively participate by providing constructive feedback to solve complex operational problems; and
Researching and determining materials to be purchased.
QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge, abilities, and skills is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the qualifications would be:
High school graduation and one (1) year experience in electrical, plumbing, and/or carpentry trades, including operation of tools and equipment. Experience working with diverse groups and ability to exercise cultural sensitivity and awareness is highly desirable.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE
Possession of a valid Class C California Driver’s License and a good driving record.
