    CITY OF ALAMEDA invites applications for the position of:

    Facilities Manager




    Salary: $127,556.00- $155,046.00 Annually

    Department: Public Works Department

    Closing Date: 12/21/20 05:00 PM


    This position is scheduled to work a 4-day, 36 hour schedule (typically Monday - Thursday or Tuesday - Friday). The City of Alameda offers a generous benefits package including full healthcare and dental coverage for you and your family, pension benefits, and 3 weeks of vacation/floating holidays at start of hire.


    The City of Alameda Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance and capital renewal of 44 building facilities. The Facilities Manager is responsible for overall development, management and administration of a long-term facilities maintenance and replacement plan, including the tracking of all major systems and components for their estimated useful life and replacement costs. The position will manage and direct work related to building plumbing systems, electrical systems, HVAC systems, alarm systems, and all other aspects of building facilities. This position reports directly to the Public Works Director.


    DISTINGUISHING FEATURES:

    Work in this class is characterized by fiscal and operational management of municipal public works projects including direct responsibility for large-scale projects. It is distinguished from that of lower classes by the level of responsibility, degree of difficulty, independent thought, and action required to manage complex large-scale projects and programs, and by the extent and level of related supervisory, managerial and/or administrative responsibilities. The scope and nature of specific projects determines the level of project management required. Responsibilities may vary according to work assignments.
