This position will be assigned to the landscape section of the streets division. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding and experience in landscape and irrigation operations and maintenance with an emphasis on centralized irrigation systems. Candidate must have an elevated level of weed abatement operational experience, practices and small tree care processes and procedures. The ideal candidate must be responsible and have a strong personal and work character. The candidate should have the ability to work independently or as part of a team/crew and follow directions consistently and thoroughly. The candidate should have the knowledge and ability to maintain a variety of irrigation controllers and equipment in the performance of day-to-day landscape maintenance operations.
This position leads, oversees, and participates in the more complex and difficult work of staff responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks in the construction, maintenance and servicing of City streets, sidewalks, curbs and gutters, landscapes, irrigation systems, traffic systems, signs and related equipment; operates and maintains a variety of heavy equipment and hand and power tools and equipment; and performs a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility.
