Department: Water Pollution Control Plant
To plan, organize, supervise, and direct the maintenance division of the West County Wastewater District, which includes the maintenance and repair activities of the Water Pollution Control Plant facilities, lift stations, grounds, machinery, control systems, equipment, and administrative facilities; as well as coordination and functional oversight of construction field crews during plant and equipment upgrades.

Be highly technically qualified in the wastewater treatment and conveyance industry. Be a skilled communicator both orally and in writing and able to convey information, delegate tasks, provide instruction and training, and listen effectively to internal and external customers and direct reports. Be empathetic and compassionate, flexible and accommodating when appropriate.Take a firm stand on safety and operational needs. Be positive and realistic, value honesty and dependability, and learn from their own mistakes.

ABOUT THE DISTRICT
West County Wastewater District (WCWD) is an award-winning wastewater treatment and resource recovery agency that collects and treats wastewater for reuse. Both district headquarters and the treatment plant are located in Richmond, CA, several miles from one another. The WCWD customer base of approximately 100,000 residents is within a service area that incorporates 34,000 residences and 2,450 commercial/industrial businesses within the cities of Richmond (northern subdivisions & north Richmond, San Pablo and designated sections of Pinole). It also serves the communities of El Sobrante, East Richmond Heights and the surrounding unincorporated areas. The District operates a 12.5 MGD wastewater treatment plant and maintains 249 miles of sanitary sewer collection lines, 17 lift stations and six miles of pressure force mains. The District's Strategic Plan was updated in 2018 and continues to serve as the road map for upgrading and maintaining the District's infrastructure and operations moving forward.
